Scientific Analog, Inc. is pleased to announce that the researchers of Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea will be presenting a paper titled, "Event-Driven Modeling and Simulation of 5G NR-Band RF Transceiver in SystemVerilog," at the upcoming 2021 International Conference on Synthesis, Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Methods and Applications to Circuit Design (SMACD 2021 (link)). Due to the pandemic situation, the conference will be held virtually on July 19-22, 2021.
The paper presents the models for a multi-standard, direct-conversion RF transceiver using XMODEL, for evaluating its system-level performance as well as verifying its digital controllers. Its results demonstrate that the presented models can deliver 30–1800× faster simulation speeds than the baseband-equivalent real-number models (RNMs) while being able to estimate the error vector magnitudes due to circuit non-linearities, DC offsets, and I/Q imbalances. The paper will be presented at 16:40 on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the RF Systems Session (A6-3).
"This paper provides clear evidence that the XMODEL's unique representation delivers both fast speed and high accuracy when running RF simulation in SystemVerilog," said Jaeha Kim, CEO and founder of Scientific Analog.
Scientific Analog, Inc. is a leading developer and provider of a mixed-signal simulator in SystemVerilog (XMODEL), automatic model generator (MODELZEN), and schematic-based design environment (GLISTER). SMACD 2021 (link) is a forum technically co-sponsored by IEEE, IEEE CEDA, and IEEE CAS, and devoted to modeling, simulation, and synthesis for analog, mixed-signal, RF, and multi-domain integrated circuits and systems.
